Our History
Origins & Vision
The history of HMD Trucking began in 1998, when Henry and Daiva Malukas started a trucking company in the Chicago metro area. Even then, Henry and Daiva were thinking strategically and were always on the lookout for new opportunities in the freight transportation market that would benefit the company’s expanding pool of clients and partners. Their vision led to the growth and diversification of the trucking division and the creation of other businesses under the HMD Enterprises brand.
Growth & Expansion
Decades later, the company evolved into a leading provider of top-quality freight transportation services operating across local, national, and international markets. In addition to the core freight hauling business, HMD Trucking also provides freight invoice factoring and freight brokerage services through its HMD Financial and HMD Transport subsidiaries, respectively. Today, the company is an end-to-end supplier of premium services for shippers and carriers alike.

With nearly 800 employees on the payroll and 650+ modern semi trucks in its fleet, HMD's transportation services are now one of the leading transportation providers in the nation, delivering all types of freight to every corner of the contiguous United States, and leveraging its diverse partner network to meet even the most challenging transportation demands. As a transportation brand, we realize the magnitude of the effect that our business operations have on the environment and take every possible step to limit that impact. To reduce our output, we operate a fleet of well-maintained, late-model trucks compliant with modern environmental standards and regulations for heavy-duty vehicles. Additionally, we strive to optimize delivery routes to minimize our carbon footprint.
To further improve the effectiveness of our environmental efforts, we continue exploring and adopting technologies that can help reduce the environmental impact of our operations. By the end of 2026, we plan to introduce Tesla electric trucks to our fleet as another step toward more sustainable transportation. We remain committed to evaluating new trucking technologies that can improve efficiency and help reduce emissions across our fleet.

Founded in 2019, HMD Motorsports grew from a passion for driving and speed into a premier development program for future NTT INDYCAR SERIES drivers. The team provides top engineering, PitFit training, and sponsorship support to help racers excel.
In just a few years, HMD drivers have earned multiple wins and podiums in USF2000, USF Pro 2000, and INDY NXT™ by Firestone, claiming Team and Driver Championships and advancing several drivers to INDYCAR.
